Hein Krammer - Muziek Contents of the database Clicking on the menu-item "Tunes" yields all the tunes in alphabetic order: their titles and the icons of their attachments. The attachment icons are:
The tunes in the database are classified into categories. Clicking on de menu-item "Categories" gives a page with the complete hierarchy of categories. Clicking on a category gives a page with the definition and description of the category as well as all the tunes belonging to that category. Another menu item is called "Authors". In this system a rather loose definition of the concept is used. So, we distinguish 3 kinds of authors: first the composer of the melody, second the poet of the lyrics, third the ethnomusicologist who collected and/or transcribed the tune. The first two kinds have to do with composed songs and dances to which belong most Hungarian "nĂ³ta". The third kind of "author" has to do with oral folk songs. Often in this database, folk music tunes have no author or a fictitious author named "Trad." When you click on the "Authors" item you will get an alphabetically ordered list of all authors and when you then click on an author's name you will get a list of all tunes of this author. |
