About this site This webpage contains music from Hungaria and Romania which Hein Krammer gathered during the years from several sources: radio, television, LPs, CDs, MCs, books, oral communication, etc. Meanwhile the database has been extended so much that there is need for more editors and administrators who can help us. If you like this site and feel you can help us, don't hesitate to write to one of the administrators. Particularly, if you have special relevant knowledge you are welcome. By clicking on the main entry "Categories" you will find explanations of all categories in the database. As for now, in the database you can find mainly Hungarian urban music, that is: so called Hungarian songs (magyar nóta) and generally known folk melodies. More Romanian and Gipsy music is being added. Hungarian folk music is poorly represented here, partly because it is already superfluously represented on the web (e.g. see Népmûvészet). However, as soon as we have time we will work on it. The attachments consist of Midi files (.MID) giving an impression of the melody, sheet music in .PDF format, and sometimes the lyric of a song in Hungarian or Romanian with an Englisch translation (in .PDF format), an arrangement for piano by Hein Krammer (in .PDF format) and a full example played on piano by Hein Krammer (in MP3 format). Of course a recording of Hungarian or Romanian performers would give a better impression of the music, but in this database problems with copyrights are avoided. Disclaimer: the maintainers of this database try to take care which tunes are entered into this database. When you find something of which you think it does not belong in this database, please contact info@heinkrammer.nl. The content of this site is maintained by Hein Krammer. The program on which this site runs also contains many interesting optional features to support a band in maintaining their collection of music, arrangements, setlists, etcetera. Design and implementation of the system is done by Dennis. Suggestions for improvements are always welcome!
