Category: Andalgó  r: e:

The Hungarian verb andalog means "walking or going dreamily".

As a category of Hungarian song it stands for a piece of music which is rather slow, often poco rubato, in a rhythm (called esztam by the gypsies) in which double-bass and viola take turns, picicato or staccato. Often, this rhythm is notated in alla breva measure (2/2).
